The Butterfly Kate is a multi-purpose knitting and spinning tool with a carbon fiber shaft and an expanding base crafted of solid hardwood. Choose your wood type from American black cherry, European beech, hard maple, or black walnut. Its lightweight design allows you to take the product anywhere, and use it for a variety of different tasks. Used with our Yarn Caddy it's a tool for easily feeding yourself yarn as you knit or crochet. Used with a bobbin it's a Lazy Kate that can be nearly vertical or inclined (60° from horizontal) for a slight "natural tensioning" effect.
The Akerworks Butterfly Kate features a TensiTamer on the shaft, a special device that provides individually-tunable braking tension to the bobbin. The TensiTamer can also be used as a yarn guide or spindle holder if desired.
Overall Dimensions (Collapsed): 10” x 1-5/8” x 7/8”
Our stitch markers stick very nicely to the magnet on the Butterfly Kate's wing.
